Reddish tan, and black and white,

The Duchifat is crested,

He eats bugs, and smells real bad,

So he won’t get digested.

The young are raised inside a hole

In a tree or some such space,

And if someone tries to hurt them,

They will shoot poop in his face.

He is not a kosher bird,

He’s also called a Hoopoe,

But who would want to eat one,

Except some kind of Dodo?
